Following from my doctorate in linguistics, I work on cognitive linguistics, the linguistic analysis of literature and other forms and genres of narrative discourse, and what happens as societies transition between orality and literacy.
My language specializations are in Indo-European and Austronesian. I am working toward a description of Hobongan that includes not just the traditional phonetics-to-syntax levels of description but semantic, discourse, pragmatic, and sociolinguistic considerations, as well.
I have a significant background in logic (MA), which I use as background for all analysis and argument.
As always, I welcome questions and comments. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
